The Beulah Music Festival (BMF) Gift

This is a scheme where the Festival Committee liaises with individuals and other organisations such as schools to identify outstanding young musicians. The selected musicians are given the opportunity to perform solo or in ensemble in our concerts alongside experienced and professional musicians.

2015 Three recipients this year thanks to a donation by Derek Shew in memory of his sister Audrey:

Hamish Sennet (‘cello), Caitlin Silk (tenor horn) and Gina Mars (tenor horn) as members of the Festival Ensemble in the Mervyn Bourdillon Memorial Concert.

2014 Lois Flower (‘cello): a Vivaldi double concerto with Ivor Cox and the Festival Ensemble as part of the Mervyn Bourdillon Memorial Concert.

2013 Alice Cox (violin): ensemble leader in the Bach’s Coffee Cantata as part of the Mervyn Bourdillon Memorial Concert.

2012 Emily Christley (French horn): two movements from Brahm’s Horn Trio with Elin Ennis and Ivor Cox.

2011 Clare Butterfield-Elsey (soprano): two arias from Haydn’s Creation with the Festival Ensemble.

2010 Louise Wilcocks (flute): a Mozart flute quartet with members of the Festival Ensemble.

2009 Owen Jordan (violin): Haydn’s Seven Last Words quartets with the Festival String Quartet in 2010.
